Ballet

Ballet is the foundation of all dance and the best place to start. One of the classic forms of dance, it teaches posture, creative movement, balance, and grace. Classes start at 3 years old and progress through the entire Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus.

Pointe

Dancing “en pointe,” or on pointe, is a major goal in a ballerina’s dance life. Dancing on pointe, or your toes, requires tremendous strength of the legs, feet and ankles.

Modern Contemporary

Modern Contemporary is an evolving field of dance that is a fusion of ballet, modern, contemporary and free-movement.

Contemporary Lyrical

Contemporary Lyrical is an evolving field of dance that is a fusion of jazz, modern, contemporary and free-movement.

Acro

An acrobatic form of dance that focuses on tricks, flips, and flexibility! This form of dance is well established in the USA but is becoming a force in Canada.  We will be using the Acro syllabus from Acrobatic Arts.

Tap

Tap is all about using your feet to turn the studio into a drum, and the more the merrier. The footwork is fast, complicated, and hypnotic. Tap is taught using the Canadian Dance Teachers Association syllabus.

Jazz

Jazz is a high energy form of dance that showcases a dancer’s style and originality. It is quick, energetic, and features big jumps and unique moves. Jazz is taught using the Canadian Dance Teachers Association syllabus.

Lyrical Jazz

Lyrical jazz is a fusion of ballet, jazz and contemporary dance techniques.  Lyrical dancing is performed to music with lyrics to inspire movements to express strong emotions.

Hip-Hop

Hip-Hop is all about entertainment. From basic rhythms and robotic moves, to popping and locking, nothing evolves faster than Hip-Hop. No syllabus here, we go straight to the clubs and music videos where this field unfolds.

Musical Theatre

The age old art of singing, lip syncing, dancing and acting at the same time. Nowhere near as easy as some people make it look, it’s a strenuous art that takes practice and dedication to shine through on the stage.  Students must have dance experience to be in the class.

Twinkle Babies & Twinkle Stars (New 22/23)

Twinkle Babies is designed for 3&4year olds and Twinkle Stars is designed for the 5&6 year olds.  Both programs incorporate Skill Building, which is essential for all dancers when starting out.  They continue to fine tune these skills throughout their dance life.  Centre Movement, builds on the skills they’ve been learning and centre combinations are taught and practiced.  Just for Fun, fun activities, storylines, passport stickers books and props!  Kids will love this!!  Showtime, at the end of the season, the Babies and Stars will be in our big show in June.  Costumes, lights, make-up, pictures… All the fun!!

Parent & Tot

This is a 8-week class for parents and their young dancer to be.  Come have some fun, listen to high energy music and dance with your little one.

Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT)

Progressing Ballet Technique is an innovative program for students to understand the depth of training muscle memory in achieving their personal best in classical ballet.  Equipment needed – Exercise Ball, Medium Soft Ball, Resistance Band, Lacrosse Ball, Mini Loop Band.
